Activities to do around the camp
The kind of activities you can do while at Camp are going to be different depending on the type of group staying.
Some people will simply enjoy the fresh air, the peace and quiet, and the ability to tune out from their busy lives for a few days. Others would prefer to be kept busy so here are a few options:
- Shortbush Walks
- Long Hikes/Tramping
- Mountain Bike Tracks (bring your own bike)
- Lake/Water Activities
- Waterfall
- Glow Worm Grotto

Bush Tracks
The local tracks are maintained by the Department of Conservation. Please ensure you are prepared regardless of the duration of your walk.
- Plan your trip – know where you are going.
- Seek local knowledge, plan your route and allow a reasonable amount of time.
- Follow orange DOC track markers.
- Tell someone where you are going and when you are expecting to be back.
- Be aware of the weather
- Know your limits – Challenge yourself within your physical limits and experience
- Take sufficient supplies – Appropriate clothing and footwear, food & water, first aid kit
